End preventableblindness
We bring sight-saving eye care to the communities that need it most across East Africa - through outreach, surgery, and early screening.
A CLEAR VISION FOR EAST AFRICA
Across the region, hundreds of thousands of people live with blindness that could have been prevented or cured. Distance and cost keep care out of reach.
City Eye Foundation exists to close that gap - improving the accessibility of eye care in both location and price, so that no one loses their sight simply because of where they were born or what they can afford.
What we do

COMMUNITY EYE CAMPS
Distance and cost are the biggest barriers to eye care. Our outreach programme removes both - taking vision screening, diagnosis, and treatment directly into underserved communities, so care reaches the people who need it most.

SIGHT-RESTORING SURGERY
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness - and they are curable. We subsidise surgery for patients who could never otherwise afford treatment, restoring sight in a single procedure.

DIABETIC EYE SCREENING
Our Fundus camera detects diabetic eye disease early within the outreach programme - enabling timely intervention that prevents needless blindness before vision is ever lost.
When a young medical student watched his diabetic father lose his sight, he resolved that no family should face preventable blindness alone.
That conviction grew into a foundation, a hospital, and a movement to end preventable blindness across the region - carried forward by the team and communities who believe sight is a right, not a privilege.
